Westwood College Scholarships and Rewards: Funds to Ignite Your Future

Westwood College ScholarshipsIf you’ve made the decision to get a college degree, you’ve taken the first step in a new, exciting journey. But determining how to fund this dream can get tricky. As you’re exploring your financial options, make sure to pay close attention to the different scholarships that may be available to you.

Westwood College has a range of scholarships and rewards to support students who are ready to step forward and dedicate the time and hard work needed to achieve a college degree and obtain meaningful employment. You already have your spark, we want to help you ignite your future.

FACT #1 – 100% of Westwood students are eligible for at least one scholarship or award

FACT #2 – Westwood has 11 institutional scholarship programs

Scholarships are awarded to students based on various qualifications like merit, talent or financial need. Students can apply for scholarships throughout their college career and they are gifts that do not need to be repaid.

Westwood has scholarship options for new and current students, high school students getting ready for college and veterans and military students.

SCHOLARSHIPS FOR NEW AND CURRENT STUDENTS

First-Step Scholarship – NEW

This is one of our newest scholarships and it’s our way of congratulating you for taking the first step to getting your degree.  Eligible students enrolled and beginning classes in October 2013 or January 2014 will receive a one-time award of $250.

Next-Step Scholarship – NEW

This is another new scholarship that recognizes students who have gotten a great start with a Westwood degree and want to take the next step into a bachelor’s or master’s degree. Students who enroll in a bachelor’s or master’s program will receive $250 per term up to $2,000, with the balance applied upon graduation.

Matching Scholarship

This scholarship is designed to encourage students to take control of financing their education by seeking out and earning third-party scholarships. All enrolled Westwood students are eligible and Westwood will match any third-party scholarship dollar-for-dollar up to $1,100 per academic year and up to $5,500 in total matching funds for the life of a program

PATH to Success Scholarship

This annual program awards scholarships to students who are taking control of their future through dedicated career planning and action. Any enrolled Westwood student can apply by submitting the required essay. The program awards up to $70,000 in total: $2,000 Gold Scholarship, $1,000 Silver Scholarship or the $500 Bronze Scholarship. The overall winner is awarded a $10,000 Platinum Scholarship.

In addition to the institutional scholarships provided by Westwood there are many other sources where you can find scholarships. These sites are free to join, giving access to all available scholarship opportunities.

  • Scholarships.com, launched in 1999, has helped millions of students, parents, and counselors search 2.7 million local, state & national college scholarships & grants worth over $19 billion.
  • Fastweb.com is a premier online resource when it comes to paying for and preparing for school.  They have scholarships for every type of student from high school freshman to the returning adult.  Fastweb.com, which began 15 years ago, has earned a reputation as a leading scholarship search provider.
  • Scholarships.net is another great resource that rates scholarship sites in terms of quality, quantity, usability, and cost.
