Are you overlooking an opportunity to get free money toward your college tuition?
If you’re a current Westwood College student and you haven’t checked out the PATH to Success scholarship – you could be missing out on getting between $500 and $10,000 toward your tuition.
The deadline is May 27 – less than a week away! Westwood is rewarding students who are taking control of their future by working with Career Services on a career plan and taking action to get meaningful work in their field when they graduate.
Here are five reasons you should apply:
1. It’s well worth an hour of your time.
Not only could you be awarded between $500 and $10,000 toward your tuition, but the scholarship application itself is incredibly beneficial because it’s aimed at future success in your career.
2. Your odds are pretty incredible.
Every campus receives three scholarships, with 52 total scholarships awarded. As of May 20, there have only been 134 submissions across all campuses, so the odds are definitely in your favor.
3. You may already be eligible.
You are eligible for Westwood’s PATH to Success Scholarship if:
- You are currently enrolled at Westwood College in any degree program of study.
- You have completed two terms at Westwood by the entry deadline.
- You have a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher by the entry deadline.
- You have met with your career advisor before the entry deadline to discuss your career plan and scholarship application.
4. It’s what you’re already doing.
The scholarship application is easier than you might think and is based on a path you’re likely already on – working toward your future career success. Here are the three essay questions:
- What is your career goal (25-50 words)?
- Based on your career goal, explain your Career Success Plan that will set you on a path to find meaningful employment when you graduate (200-500 words).
- Success depends on you taking ownership and action over your Career Success Plan. Describe in detail the specific action you have taken on your Career Success Plan during school, including, but not limited to, meeting with Career Services, attending workshops, job fairs, internships, club activity and networking events (300-600 words).
5. You’ve got resources at your fingertips.
